Who am I? I’m so glad you asked… (okay, I know you didn’t technically “ask” but I’m going to tell you anyway). For starters, I’m a ‘Jersey Girl’, which should tell you something right away… I’m sassy, matter-of-fact and opinionated. Oh, and I tend to ramble on and on about stuff… which is why blogging is perfect for me.
I have learned some pretty great lessons so far in my life… some the “easy way” and some the “hard way”… I prefer the “easy way”, thank you very much. My hope is that by reading my posts, you’ll learn something the “easy way” that I had to bang my head against the wall a couple times to “get”… (you’re welcome, by the way) ;)
In fact, here’s your first lesson: If you ever create your own blog using WordPress, and you’re typing something new, make sure you click that little button that says “Save” a WHOLE LOTTA TIMES! I’ll admit, this is not the first time I typed the very post that you’re reading right now… so, learn the “easy way” and say it with me: “Click the Save button early and often”… let’s do that again: “Click the Save button early and often”. Now, wasn’t that easy?
okay, back to me… I say I’m a ‘jersey girl’, although I live in Southern California. I can say I’m a Jersey Girl because when you spend the first 26 (and a half) years of your life drinking Newark water, the Garden State never really leaves your system. Yes, that was supposed to leave a bad taste in your mouth… kinda on the ‘metallic-y’ side if memory serves… but I love you, New Jersey… you’ll forever be present in my bloodstream!
I left the east coast about 10 years ago… (wait, somehow I just tricked myself into revealing my age… darn ‘About Me’ pages) anyway, I left for numerous reasons, all of which I will not bore you with. (at least not on this page) but the number one reason I left was because I got tired of carrying “lock de-icer” on my keychain for 6 months out of the year… I love the snow, mind you, I just like to decide when and where we see each other.
I’m also the mother of 2 beautiful boys… ages 6 and 4. For the most part, they are my ‘muses’… providing endless fodder for my writing and enough laughter to keep me rolling all day long. and while they are the source of a lot of hope and inspiration in my life, they also supply me with my fair share (sometimes FAR more) of anxiety, fear, frustration, madness… oh, the fabric of our lives. (it’s not cotton, people)
